Objectives of the WVACAVB
A. Increase the effectiveness
and raise the standards of professionalism among its members
and their employees as well as the tourism industry through
an ongoing educational effort and mentoring program.
B. Serve as a vehicle for the
systematic exchange of information pertinent to the tourism
industry in general and bureaus in particular.
C. Provide members with special
marketing and educational opportunities that are beneficial
to the association or its members.
D.
Advise the state tourism office on appropriate marketing
and promotional projects and to assist with their planning
and implementation when possible.
E. Maintain a close cooperative
relationship with allied organizations and others who share
common goals and interests.
F. Bring cohesion to the tourism
industry and to increase its recognition while highlighting
the role of bureaus in this industry.
G. Promote a wider understanding
of tourism as a major industry that contributes significantly
to the economic and social well being of the state.
H. Exert its collective influence
in matters that may impact the tourism industry on the local,
state, national or international level.
I. Engage in any activity,
which shall, in the opinion of the board of directors be
for the benefit of the corporation and its members and to
employ all the necessary resources to carry out the forgoing
objectives.
